Vietnam Visa & Visa-free - Your Guide Before Traveling to Vietnam

Updated: 1 day ago

Vietnam e-Visa

A Vietnam visa is a type of travel document granted by competent Vietnamese authorities, providing permission to travel to and enter Vietnam.

Vietnam grants e-visas for citizens of all countries and territories with a 90-day stay duration, for single or multiple entries.

Travelers must enter and exit Vietnam by e-visa through designated border gates: 13 international airports, 16 land border gates, and 13 sea border gates.

How to apply for Vietnam e-Visa?

From 11th November 2024, international travelers to Vietnam can apply for electronic visas through the new official Vietnam Electronic Visa Portal: https://evisa.gov.vn

Visa applications should only be made on the official website of the immigration department and not through third-party vendors.

The processing time is within three working days. However, it can take longer when there is a large number of applicants. We recommend you apply 10 days of working day minimum before departure.

This depends on your plan. You can apply for a multiple-entry visa if you wish to enter Vietnam more than one time within the registered period.

4. My e-visa was issued, but the information specified on it is wrong. How can I correct it?

The information on your e-visa must be correct and match your passport information. The e-visa once issued cannot be amended and is non-refundable. You need to apply for a new e-visa.

5. Do I need to prepare anything if I’m on the list of Vietnam visa-free countries?

You only need to make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months

Note: Except for Panama and Chile which have a 90-day visa exemption, you can only stay in Vietnam from 14 to 45 days with a visa-free policy (depending on the country). If you wish to stay in Vietnam for up to 90 days, you will need to go through the e-visa application process online.
